After all their toilet jokes, starting the whole ’briefcase w*****’ thing, that yellow Fiat and many, many girl failures – you’ll be surprised to hear The Inbetweeners haven’t received their glitzy invitation to the prestigious Oscar ceremony in Los Angeles this weekend. But it’s not that they haven’t been invited, it’s just that their invitation hasn’t arrived due to a “clerical” error. Ahem.

Simon Bird (who plays geeky Will McKenzie) joked, “I presume there must have been some sort of clerical error because we haven’t actually received our invites yet.”

Of course despite those un-bothered words, we reckon Simon was actually slightly miffed that he wasn’t going to LA for the occasion (a free holiday is a free holiday whichever way you look at it) but as the lovelyJoe Thomas, who plays slightly dopey Simon Cooper explained, there must be some reasonable explanation – like all the Internet connections in California went down and they just couldn’t be contacted. LOL.

“It’s very weird that they haven’t come through,” he mused. “I think that maybe the internet must be down. I think it would show real foresight and bravery for them to give us an Oscar. It would be a great – and at the same time bad – day for the Oscars. I don’t think they would regret it.”
